Day 4

So right now there are 6 volunteers, there will be only 3 by tomorrow. And just the two of us on most days. So the work is going to be a lot harder. Pray more volunteers come! Yesterday we celebrated the birthdays for the month of August. There was cake, ice cream and presents. Also yesterday we went on the weekly trip to the market...that was fun. The pictures will explain! The kids here are the sweetest kids ever. A boy just came back from the hospital, Luis, we had never met him. He is a burn victim from a house fire, he survived with massive burns all over his body particularly his face and head. He loves giving hugs and lots of kisses. He is such a loving playful kid. Please pray for a new patient we are getting. He is a 20 yr old boy who had a terrible accident which really messed up his leg. They did surgery but because of the poor medical care here, someone at the hospital put heat on the damaged tissue, which allowed bacteria to flourish. Ultimately his leg up to about the knee turned black and needed to be amputated. He will be coming here to stay and wait for a prosthetic leg. He is severely depressed over losing his leg, so please keep him in your prayers. OK well we're off to play with the babies before mass.
Keep praying for us!

Day two

Everything is going great! The kids are amazing. They are so cute, but it is difficult because you can't really play with them because of their diabilities. But their attitudes are not effected by their afflictions, they are all very happy cheerful children. We spend a lot of time assisting the staff here, babysitting, helping in the kitchen, and other things to occupy the children so that the nurses can get their work done.
Picture will be coming soon. There is one boy Victor, he has no arms, and seems to be one of the happiest boy here. He is always singing and smiling. Also there is a blind boy who can play the guitar. At first we only heard him play some chords, but we were very impressed when he started playing Tears In Heaven! (Patrick, we are no longer impressed, a blind kid can play just as well!!)

Please keep us and the children in your prayers.
